Things to Do in February Part 1

Sunrise Easter Service at the Lincoln Memorial (Sunday, April 20th – 6:30am) Over 6000 people gather annually at the Lincoln Memorial.  As the sun rises over the Capitol Dome, the mall rings with sounds of joyful celebration as we program together that Christ is risen!  Hose, Pastor Amos Dodge will bring a hope-filled proclamation of Easter’s Triumph.

Art Everywhere: A Very Very Big Art Show (Vote now-May 7th) American artists have long found inspiration in iconic locations such as Times Square, Sunset Boulevard, and Route 66. Starting on August 4, 2014, and continuing for four weeks, Art Everywhere US will transform these and other public spaces into free open-air galleries for American masterworks in the largest outdoor art show ever conceived—and one curated with the help of the American people through an online vote.

Earth Day at Union Station (April 22nd) The historic public transportation hub will feature free interactive, education exhibits in honor of Earth Day for guests of all ages.  The even aims to show people how they can observe Earth Day by making simple changes in their lives to save energy and protect the environment.

National Park Week (April 19th-27th) You are invited to celebrate all that America’s more than 400 national parks have to offer with the theme “National Park Week: Go Wild!” From diverse wildlife and iconic landscapes to vibrant culture and rich history, our National Park System has something for everyone.

DC Yoga Week (April 28th-May 4th) The DC Community of Yoga (DCCY) is hosting the 9th Annual DC Yoga Week and Yoga on the Mall. This year we have over 30 studios and partners participating! Member studios will be offering FREE and/or reduced-cost classes all week long.
