Things to Do Around DC First Half of June

– See What’s Happening Around D.C. –Art Soiree Presents: Live Music Garden At The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown -Thursday June 2nd, Doors open at 6PM show starts at 7PM. Experience DC’s local music scene with a unique summer concert! From samba and bossa nova to maracatu and frevo, singer and poet Rose Moraes delves into the roots of Brazilian music at Live Music Garden. Enjoy this idyllic summer experience underneath the stars, as you get up-close and personal with the performing artists at Urban Garden at the Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown.

Metro: Get off at the dupont circle station, then board  Metro Bus D2 Glover ParkFrom Campus to Capitol Hill:  How to Excel a Your DC Internship – Friday, June 3rd from 9:30 am – 4:30pm at the Capitol Hill Club. This is an annual event featuring great conservative women leaders and we are excited this year to featuring another excellent lineup! This year’s speakers include former Google Chief Technology Officer Michele Weslander Quaid, Senior Advisor on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Leah Campos, commentator and President of the polling company, inc./WomanTrend Kellyanne Conway, Vice President at Young America’s Foundation Kimberly Begg, and more.The seminar includes complimentary breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. This event is FREE to interns but they must register.

13th Annual DC LCC Crawfish Boil–  Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM (EDT) The Washington DC Metro Louisiana College Coalition will be serving Over 10,000 lbs of crawfish catered from Louisiana for their annual event.  The 1,500 expected guests will receive hot Louisiana crawfish, sausage, jambalaya, beer (21 years or older), cokes, dessert, and live Cajun/Zydeco music.,Alexandria, VA. The entire park and all parking lots are reserved for the crawfish boil. All parking lots (except for Area E) at Fort Hunt are open for our event but please carpool
Event is not free, ticket prices range from $50-60.

Around the World Cultural Food Festival – Saturday June 18th 11:00-6:00 PM (EDT) Around the World Cultural Food Festival brings together diverse, authentic, living traditions  from different countries around the world . The public will have the opportunity to learn, to eat, to dance, to shop, to witness these vibrantly connected  cultures and create their own connections with each and every single country presented in the event.

Metro: The festival will take place at the Washington Monument, a few blocks away from the Smithsonian metro.

Patti LaBelle Concert- The legendary Patti LaBelle will be in the DC area having a concert on Thursday June 30th  and Friday July 1st, both scheduled for 8 p.m. She will be performing a variety of her hit songs from over the years. The concert is set to last 90 minutes with no intermission. The concert will be located Stratmore arts center.
Event is not free, ticket prices range from $65-150.
Metro: 3 minute walk from the Grosvenor Metro Station.

“Harold Night” Improv Night with WIT at Source Theatre– Weekly event every Tuesday.
Two shows! 8:00pm – 9:00pm + 9:00pm – 10:00pm, Harold Night is WIT’s weekly homage to the world-famous longform improv format: the Harold. Followed by a free jam where audience members can give improv a try side by side with experienced players.
Seating for both sessions will take place at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. Walk-ins are welcomed.
