State of the Union Bingo and Watch Party at The 201 Bar – Jan. 12, 8pm – 11pm

The 201 Bar and Washington Examiner are teaming up to bring you the greatest State of the Union watch party in the history of the world. Your first drink is on them and they’ll have many prizes for SOTU BINGO winners and runners-up. This is one political contest where there are no losers. Core Power Yoga in Dupont Circle Grand Opening Class – Jan. 13, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Core Power Yoga in Dupont is officially opened and can’t wait to celebrate with you. Come check out their studio, meet the instructors and practice with them. Stick around after class for fun and refreshments.

Open to all Styles of performance! Sets are up to 15 minutes, or 3 songs if you are a musician. Emcee/ producer is local musician Peggy Brennan.

Giant Pandas Display at the National Zoo – Jan. 16, 9am-4pm

Bei Bei will go on public exhibit for the first time January 16, 2016. The panda house has been closed since August to give the mother and cub quiet and time to bond. When it reopens, the panda house will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and Milwaukee Place SE, Washington DC. The Anacostia parade/peacewalk includes the Ballou Marching Band and representatives from the area’s Asian, Bolivian, Jamaican and African American communities

Washington DC Women’s Roller Derby – Jan. 23-Feb. 20, 3pm

The DC Rollergirls are a women’s non-profit roller derby league that brings its hard-hitting, rough and tumble skate action to Washington DC from September to May each year. The DC Rollergirls are the premier women’s flat track roller derby league in the national capital region. Tickets are available in advance at or at the door.
