WISH is your portal to Washington DC attractions!  Check out our video and the must-sees while interning in DC.

A common misunderstanding is that the National Mall is the only must-see attraction DC has to offer – but there are other great attractions open to the public that are must-see.

1. Union Station

Washington’s Union Station is more than just a train station. It’s a place to grab food, a post office, or your go-to convenient store. There are also many retail stores located in Union Station! Do some quick shopping at your favorite stores on your way off the metro. Washington DC bus tours travel through the history of the great city.

2. United States Botanical Garden

Located less than a mile away from Union Station is the United States Botanical Garden on Capitol Hill, near Garfield Circle. Established by the U.S. Congress in 1820, the U.S. Botanic Garden is one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America. The USBG is a living plant museum that informs visitors about the importance, and often irreplaceable value, of plants to the well-being of humans and to earth’s fragile ecosystems.

3. Chinatown

Washington’s Chinatown is a historic area east of downtown consisting of about 20 ethnic Chinese and other Asian restaurants and small businesses. Chinatown is also home to other attractions, such as Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Capital One Arena.
