Verizon Center is a busy place this time of year. It is the home of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and plays host to Georgetown University Basketball team.

2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival Dates: (March 20 – April 27) will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Cherry Blossom Festival with 5 weeks of spectacular events.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade combines wonderful entertainment for the whole family including decorated floats, gigantic colorful helium balloons, marching bands, clowns, horses, antique cars, military and celebrity performances.
The Japanese Street Festival in Washington, DC is a lively celebration of Japanese culture and part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Free Cherry Blossom Walking Tours– Take a free tour with a National Park Service Ranger and learn about the history of the cherry blossom trees and more
Blossom Kite Festival– March, 31. Kite flying competition, special demonstrations and kite making for children.
Sylvan Theater– an outdoor amphitheater on the National Mall in Washington DC located at the northwest corner of 15th Street and Independence Avenue near the base of the Washington Monument. Daily free cultural performances during March 31-April 15, 2012.
