WISH Farewell Reception – Date, Time, and Place TBA 
Celebrate the end of the semester with WISH at the Farewell Reception! Keep up with the WISHington Post and the events calendar to learn more about the Farwell Reception.

Best Kids Superhero 5k – Saturday, April 22 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Support the Best Kids Mentorship Program by registering, donating or volunteering for the race. WISH is excited to be sponsoring and participating in the Superhero 5k. Email questions to media@internsdc.com.
Directions: Take Red line from Union Station to Gallery Place Chinatown, then take the Green line to Anacostia Metro Station and walk about 10 minutes.

– See What’s Happening Around D.C. – 

Cherry Blossom Freedom Walk – Saturday, April 1 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Rain or shine, put on your sneakers and take part in the walk! The purpose of the walk is to commemorate Japanese Americans for their experiences after World War II. 
Directions: Meet at the Japanese American Memorial, an 8 minute walk from WISH office.
Free (but donations appreciated)

Blossom Kite Festival – Saturday, April 1 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Watch skilled kite flyers show their skills or build your own kite at the festival for fun!
Directions: Festival on the grounds of the Washington Monument

Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run and 5k Walk – Sunday, April 2 starts at 7:30 am
Celebrate spring and get a great view of the cherry blossoms by either running or walking! Or cheer on race participants!
Directions: Race is throughout the National Mall.
Free for spectators

Washington Nationals Opening Day – Monday, April 3 starts at 1:05 pm
Express your love for baseball with the opening day game for the Washington Nationals!
Directions: Take Red line from Union Station to Gallery Place Chinatown, then take the Green line to Navy Yard Metro Station.

National Cherry Blossom Parade – Saturday, April 8 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Cherry blossom season is a popular time in Washington, DC. Celebrate the season with the Cherry Blossom Parade!
Directions: Parade is from Constitution Ave to 7th-17th Sts NW; take Red line from Union Station to Metro Center Station and walk about 9 minutes.
Free for public between 9th-15th Sts (arrive early)

Anacostia River Festival – Sunday, April 9 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Get outdoors and enjoy a variety of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and live music!
Directions: Take Red line from Union Station to Gallery Place Chinatown, then take the Green line to Anacostia Metro Station and walk about 10 minutes.

Events DC Cherry Blast – Friday, April 14 7:00 pm – 12:00 am
Celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival Finale with an event inspired by Japanese nightlife!
Directions: Take Red line from Union Station to Gallery Place Chinatown and walk about 6 minutes.
Tickets range in price: all inclusive experience $69

Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival – Saturday, April 15 begins at 2:00 pm
Enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, activities, and an awesome fireworks display!
Directions: Take Red line from Union Station to Gallery Place Chinatown, then take the Green line to Waterfront Metro Station and walk about 7 minutes.
